A trim level is the spec tier a carmaker sells you. The good equipment — wireless CarPlay, ambient lighting, a decent camera — almost always lives two trims up from the one most people actually buy. To reach it you are asked to buy a different car.
DRIVETRIM exists because that is a bad deal. Nearly all of it can be added to the car already on your driveway, in an afternoon, with no wiring loom and no appointment.
What we actually do
We are a small catalogue on purpose. Eight products. Every one of them solves a specific, nameable irritation: the cable you have to dig out every morning, the fault light nobody will explain, the accident where it is your word against theirs.
We would rather sell eight things we can explain properly than eight hundred we have never handled.
The three rules we run on
1. Fitment before the sale
Every product page states the requirement in plain words, at the top, before the price. The wireless CarPlay adapter needs your car to already run CarPlay over a cable — if it does not, we say so and we tell you not to buy it. There is a checker on the homepage that answers the most common case in one question, and one of its four answers is "skip this, it will not help you".
2. The caveats go in writing
The OBD2 reader is WiFi, not Bluetooth. Running the dash cam in parking mode needs a hardwire kit to the fuse box. The fibre-optic lighting kit means tucking strand under trim panels, which takes longer than plugging something in. None of that is hidden in a spec sheet — it is on the product page, before you pay.
3. Reviews are real or they are not there
We opened recently. Rather than fill the site with invented five-star quotes from people who do not exist, the reviews section stays empty until real customers write in. When they do, their words appear here unedited — including the critical ones. You will always be able to tell the difference between a shop that earned its reviews and one that wrote them.
What we do not do
- We do not fit head units. If your car never had CarPlay, no USB dongle can add it, and we will tell you that instead of taking the order.
- We do not cut into your wiring loom. Everything here uses ports the car already has.
- We do not run fake countdown timers, fake stock counters or fake "12 people are viewing this" badges.
